SUMMARY:UNDERSTANDING AND USING YOUR NSLVE DATA Webinar from ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge
DESCRIPTION:The National Study of Learning\, Voting\, and Engagement (NSLVE) is the first and only nonpartisan study of individual and institution-level data on college student voting. More than 1\,000 campuses are participating and will receive their data from the 2016 presidential election this summer. Reports will also include comparison data from the 2012 presidential election. \nIf you’re wondering what your campus should do once it receives its report\, then we hope you’ll join us for this conversation. Participants will learn how to read and analyze the data to inform campus activities and programming. The results are designed to increase political engagement and to help foster a campus climate for civic learning and participation. \nA presenter from the Institute for Democracy in Higher Education at Tufts University’s Tisch College of Civic Life will share resources and tools on how to maximize use of the data and offer advice on sharing the results across your campus. \nNote: Participants are strongly encouraged to review their campus reports in advance of the webinar. A full list of NSLVE’s participating campuses can be viewed online here. To obtain a copy of your institution’s report\, please complete this online form. \nSpeaker: \nIshara Casellas Connors \nAssociate Director\, Institute for Democracy and Higher Education \nTufts University \nFor questions or additional information please contact Catherine Fish at cat@civicnation.org.

SUMMARY:3rd Annual Gap Year Conference
DESCRIPTION:Service Year Alliance is pleased to partner with the American Gap Association as we work together to promote and facilitate service-focused gap years. We are excited to invite you to attend 3rd annual Gap Year Conference in Denver\, CO\, on May 7-9\, 2017. \nService Year Alliance will be speaking on Service Years as Gap Years to highlight the benefits of a service year between high school and college where young people can get paid to develop real-world skills through hands-on service. \nThe conference will be held in advance of\, and in partnership with\, the IECA Spring conference and is slated to have some exciting opportunities. This year\, any Gap Year Conference attendee who has not attended an IECA conference in the last year\, will be eligible for a $100 discount from their IECA conference fees – details can be found in your registration confirmation or by emailing Ethan@amreicangap.org. The 2016 conference doubled our attendees over the previous year in Baltimore\, and we expect to do the same in Denver\, limiting the number to 300 attendees. We will have some incredibly valuable discussion and presentations on key topics\, some great networking\, an experiential component\, and some great food! As well\, we are proud to reprise the highly successful “Gap n Go” all-day speed dating option (for an additional fee) to meet with registered IECA Members in a more intimate setting. This promises to be a collaborative and growth-forward event bringing together Colleges that offer and support the Gap Year\, Gap Year Providers\, Gap Year Partners\, and of course\, Educational Consultants and Specialists. We are making specific efforts to be inclusive and of value to our College partners this coming year\, and look forward to a fantastic event!
