January is off to a strong start at the Community Campus Coalition (Triple C), with exciting opportunities, statewide recognition, and meaningful ways for campuses and community partners to engage. Here are some of the highlights from our January newsletter.
Ping & Hoch Awards: Nominations Now Open
Triple C is proud to honor outstanding students, faculty, and staff from our partner institutions through the 2026 Ping & Hoch Awards, which recognize exceptional leadership in service-learning and community engagement.
Nominations are open now through February 20. We encourage campuses to lift up individuals whose work strengthens communities and deepens civic engagement.
Celebrating Ohio Campuses Recognized for Community Engagement
We are excited to congratulate several Triple C member institutions that received the 2026 Carnegie Classification for Community Engagement, a national designation recognizing deep, sustained campus–community partnerships.
Ohio honorees include Ohio University, The Ohio State University, The University of Akron, Xavier University, and Youngstown State University. We are proud to celebrate their leadership in civic and community engagement.
AmeriCorps & VISTA Opportunities Across Ohio
Triple C is recruiting a VISTA Leader to support our statewide Communities Thriving initiative, strengthening basic needs efforts for college students. In addition, Mount St. Joseph University is seeking a Communities Thriving AmeriCorps VISTA focused on family engagement and community partnerships in the Cincinnati region. These roles offer meaningful leadership experience for national service alumni and emerging changemakers.
