Community Campus Coalition (Triple C) is partnering with Unify America for a virtual Lunch & Learn on May 13, 2026 at 12 PM ET focused on the Civic Gym and its impact on rural and rural-serving community colleges.
Register HereThe Civic Gym is an intercollegiate virtual program that connects students across differences through structured, one-on-one dialogue on important issues facing society today. These facilitated conversations give students meaningful opportunities to practice and strengthen durable skills such as active listening, collaborative problem-solving, and effective communication—skills essential for success in college, career, and civic life.
What is the Civic Gym?
The Civic Gym integrates directly into existing courses and assignments, requiring no new curriculum infrastructure. Unify America supports institutions with event matching, facilitation, and implementation resources, making it simple for faculty and staff to bring the program into their classrooms.
Since 2021, more than 30,000 students across 46 states have participated in the Civic Gym, engaging in conversations that help them learn across differences and build real-world skills.
A New Opportunity for Rural and Rural-Serving Colleges
For the 2026–2027 academic year, Unify America has received grant funding to deeply subsidize access to the Civic Gym for rural and rural-serving community colleges. This Lunch & Learn will provide an overview of the program, highlight how campuses are using it, and share details on how institutions can apply.
