The Community Campus Coalition (Triple C), EngageKY, and The University of Akron’s EX[L] Center are seeking a dedicated individual to serve as an AmeriCorps VISTA member for the 2026–27 service year.
This exciting opportunity allows a service-minded professional to support community engagement initiatives, strengthen campus-community partnerships, and help expand opportunities for students and the Akron community.
About the Position
The EX[L] Center for Community Engaged Learning at The University of Akron works to bridge the gap between campus and community by helping partner organizations build capacity to better meet their missions while creating hands-on learning opportunities for students.
The selected VISTA member will serve a 12-month term focused on developing and strengthening programs that support student success and community impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Design a community-based Federal Work Study Program to support K–12 cradle-to-career initiatives in Akron.
- Redesign the Akron Community Internship Program into a summer cohort experience.
- Develop and support program assessment and data collection efforts.
- Strengthen partnerships between higher education institutions and community organizations.
